Orin's Quest for Off-Grid Independence
After years of increasingly unreliable service from his local utility, which resulted in frequent blackouts for days or weeks at a time, Orin had already been working towards taking his home off-grid before discovering our Sun Titan systems. He already had two arrays of solar panels installed at his property, but these panels were old and relatively inefficient. Additionally, his existing setup lacked battery storage at the property, which significantly handicapped his ability to take his property off grid. Aside from his main residence, Orin needed sufficient electricity to power his water well pump and welding equipment in his shop.
The Sun Titan Solution
Orin decided that a solar trailer would be best for his situation, as he wanted a portable power source, and preferred to avoid the lengthy permitting process required for a permanent solar panel array. He calculated that a 15-20 kW system would provide enough electricity for off-grid sustainability.
After estimating the cost of building a DIY solar trailer, Orin realized that the RPS Sun Titan offers similar performance at a highly competitive price. He chose to move forward with a Sun Titan L15, equipped with three lithium iron batteries capable of delivering 15.4 usable kWh at normal discharge.
