Kelvin's Small Farm Challenges
Kelvin was often frustrated with inconsistent grid power service to his small farm in Northern California. He has a 220V generator to run necessary equipment during power outages, but was tired of spending time and money to fuel up and maintain this generator. Kelvin operates two well pumps (one ½HP, and one 1HP) for about four hours a day, along with dehumidifiers that he needs to run continuously during certain seasons. While his property has good sun exposure, he wanted a system with enough battery storage to run some equipment around the clock when needed. 
The Sun Titan Solution
Kelvin’s electricity requirements are relatively modest, but his requirement to run dehumidifiers 24/7 led our solar specialists to recommend the Sun Titan L10 with a dual-fuel (gas and propane) backup generator. The L10 is capable of delivering over 10 kWh of usable power under normal conditions, and with the backup generator, this setup is capable of yielding more than enough electricity to deliver the 30 amps of continuous power that his equipment requires.
The Results
Kelvin received his Sun Titan just in time, late summer, allowing him to familiarize himself with the system before California’s wildfire season and the inevitable grid power disruptions. Thanks to the L10’s battery storage capacity and the generator backup, Kelvin was able to ride out several power outages without ever losing power to his well pumps or other essential equipment.
